Please note additions to the Classic Race Map

1) Turning Zones: there will be 7 marked Turning Zones in the race. These will be marked by signs on the course (Begin and End). There will be no tracks in these sections and Turning Technique (Step turns) are allowed. Hopefully these will be the only sections on the course (besides major public trail crossings like the Common Corridor) where the tracks will be missing.

2) Technique Zone: The final decision on placement or whether to have one will be made by the TD during course inspection on Friday morning. If there is a technique zone it will be on the section of Easy Up marked on the map. Only diagonal technique is allowed in the section.

  • YES:
    • Striding
    • Running (Opposite arms & Legs)
    • Herringbone (no glide)
  • NO:
    • Double Pole
    • Double Pole with Kick
    • Herringbone with Glide

Please be sure to read over the rules about diagonal technique and turning and spend some time discussing them with your athletes before State.
